Since 2003 First To Serve has focused on providing transitional housing, medical, and supportive services to homeless men, women and children in South Los Angeles. Christina started her career in homeless services in 2010 by joining First To Serve (FTS) as an HMIS Data Specialist. Since then, under the leadership and guidance of Rev. Richard Reed, Christina continues to be an integral asset in the growth of FTS. Her passion, commitment and dedication to work with the most vulnerable continues to be her biggest motivation to ensure that each participant is treated with dignity and respect. Through her leadership, compassion and perseverance, she leads, coaches, mentors and fosters a management team to ensure the effectiveness and continuity of the vision of FTS.  Christina also directs the administrative planning, policies and procedures of FTS and works closely with the Board of Directors.

 

Christina has expanded her leadership skills and currently oversees an array of contracts consisting of but not limited to; Department Mental Heath, Department of Health Services and the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority. These services include but are not limited to; interim housing, rapid rehousing, Crisis Housing for singles and families, domestic violence transitional housing, residential substance abuse services and seasonal winter shelter programChristina is known throughout the community for collaborating with local providers in an effort to provide expert integrated services to address the various conditions of our community.

The SPA6 Homeless Coalition meets usually on the second Friday of every month. Our regular meetings are held from 10:00 to 12:00 pm at the St. Joseph Center/First To Serve offices at 8525 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90003. Quarterly the meetings are held jointly with the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. at a location to be announced. 

Our next meeting will be on Friday, March 13, 2020, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. St. Joseph Center/First To Serve, Broadway Manchester Access Center, 8525 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, CA 90003. NOTE: Parking previously had been at the parking lot two doors north of the meeting place on the same side of the street. This parking lot is now dedicated to ten house trailers for homeless families. So come a little early to find street parking.
