Weekend to End Homeless, October 4 to 6 2019

LAHSA has been working with Inner City Law Center on the 2nd annual Weekend to End Homelessness. The Weekend to End Homelessness is a weekend-long series of community engagement events throughout LA County designed to bring people together that are interested in ending the homelessness crisis to educate, inspire and get them connected with people and organizations already doing great work. Each of the 8 County-Wide Service Planning Areas has a team of local leaders working together from every level of government, along with a variety of direct service providers, and individuals representing a diverse pool of affinity groups designing an experience unique to the needs of their respective communities. The event will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the weekend of October 4, 5, 6.

We hope the event in South LA inspires community members to come out and educate themselves about the myths of homelessness and also find out how they can get involved with volunteer opportunities, hear stories and enjoy a fun filled day of music and art. We will be hosting our event at the South LA Wetlands with a day of education around homelessness in the community. The day will include:

  • Art displays with the theme “What home means to you”

  • Storytelling from formerly homeless youth and performances

  • Date: Oct 6th (Sunday) Time: 11:00am-3pm

  •   Raffles

  •   Food Trucks

  •    Community members can sign up for volunteer opportunities with community organizations

  •   2019 Homeless Count Numbers will be displayed

    And much more!
