National Alliance to End Homelessness

Report from Jerry Jones, National Field Director, National Alliance to End Homelessness, Washington, DC

We’re in the final push for $327 billion in affordable housing funding in Congress, as part of President Biden’s “Build Back Better” plan. As you’re probably aware, some legislators are pushing back against the bill’s overall price tag and demanding big cuts. We’re worried that housing investments could be slashed as part of the legislative compromise.

Can WLCAC add its name to this sign-on letter that we’re sending to Rep. Waters, thanking her for supporting these housing funds and urging her to keep advocating? The sign-on deadline is COB next Thursday, October 21.
Here’s the link to endorse along with the text to the letter: https://naehletter.wufoo.com/forms/m77mnr01m7mo6h/
Our success depends on the willingness of legislators like Rep. Waters to fight as hard as possible for housing funding. She’s under tremendous pressure during these negotiations. We need homeless organizations in the LA region to show their appreciation and encourage her to hold the line!
